Re-purpose a vintage garden door into a great looking garden center for your patio. This old garden door was painted a bright shade of blue. Shelves, pegs and some hooks here and there were installed to store tools, seed, pots and other garden supplies.
Here is what you will need. An old wooden door especially one with a window on top. Four shelf brackets and two wooden shelves cut about 2 or 3 inches wider than the door. Six or seven shaker pegs, two vintage metal coat hooks. One quart of primer, one quart of a paint of your choice and one quart of polyurethane. Additional supplies include sandpaper, paint brush, etc. Bamm – you have an awesome Garden Door for your patio.
Prepare the door, shelves and brackets by using sand paper and wipe all surfaces clean. Apply 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. Then glaze until the desired effect is achieved. Finally apply two coats of polyurethane. Install the shelve brackets, shelves, shaker pegs and coat hooks.
